Hello, there!
Answer:
“I use a fair amount of PRP in my practice for other conditions. I use none for my concussion patients. I don’t think I’ve ever done a PRP injection on a concussion patient. They usually respond really well to a very coordinated plan that attacks the biggest negative first. Get them active as per Leddy protocol. Get the cognitive rehabilitation going in terms of academic modifications and working with the schools, communicating with the schools. Work on the neck, get the ocular rehabilitation, get the vestibular rehabilitation. Attack all the subtypes that are impacting the specific individual. And we have tremendous success with that approach without needing invasive treatment. Rarely are we prescribing invasive treatment. And occasionally it’ll be a Fossette joint or a spine injection with one of my physiatry colleagues.”
